The wait is finally over! The much-anticipated Bukharian Jewish Link (BJL) has officially made its grand debut!  Shehechiyanu Vekiyimanu Vehigiyanu Lazman Hazeh!

With a thriving community of approximately 100,000 members, it is about time the Bukharian community has a paper to unite everyone under one umbrella.

The reality is that the new generation of Bukharian Americans does not read Russian, and to this day, all Bukharian newspapers in the United States are geared towards the Russian-speaking audience. And so, the BJL has proudly stepped in to fill the void and be the voice for the overwhelming majority of the Bukharian community.

Currently, the Bukharian people are spread out throughout New York, along with parts of Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Colorado, Texas, Ohio, and several other states. B’ezrat Hashem, we look forward to making the BJL the unbreakable link that unites all these wonderful communities. The BJL will bring everyone together to one center of communication, something that will without a doubt bring about a great revolution. From here on out, we will know what is happening in the Bukharian communities outside of New York, while they will know what we are doing here in New York.

The other objective of the Bukharian Jewish Link is to enlighten our community with the vast knowledge and expertise of its members.  Throughout my nine years at Pizza Palace Cafe in Forest Hills, I met a nice number of Bukharian doctors, lawyers, professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, builders, developers and activists, who are making a big difference throughout New York.  With the BJL, we want our community members and professionals to give us an insight in their field of expertise. Furthermore, this paper will give all our other wonderful neighboring Jewish communities an opportunity to get to know our community more up close and personal. This is something we believe will help promote better understanding of our rich culture and way of life.

We truly feel blessed to have the support of the newly-formed Bukharian Rabbanut of the USA and Canada, headed by Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Yisraeli. Seeing all the leading rabbis of the Bukharian community united to further strengthen our future gives laymen such as myself the strength to do as much as I can to help with the cause. Similarly, sitting with numerous community leaders such as Mr. Simcha Alishaev and receiving their fullest support gives us the inner strength to make this project one that will bring pride and joy to the entire community.

I would like for everyone to feel free to reach out and communicate with us on what type of material you would like to see; we want you to feel that this is your newspaper. We are open to suggestions, constructive criticism, and of course compliments too!

Thank you for your interest in our publication and we look forward to building a long-lasting relationship with you and your family! Ketiva Vechatima Tovah to all!!
