Met Council is encouraging New Yorkers on Medicaid to find out whether they qualify for weekly Glatt Kosher groceries delivered directly to their homes through a newly available benefit.

Many individuals and families may already be eligible for food and nutrition support as part of their Medicaid coverage but are not yet aware of it. Met Council is helping community members understand what benefits may be available to them and guiding them through a simple, respectful screening process.

For those who qualify, this is a covered benefit under their healthcare plan, not a charitable service. It provides weekly deliveries of Glatt Kosher groceries directly to the door, making it easier to access fresh, appropriate food while supporting overall health and stability.

“People should not leave benefits on the table, especially when those benefits can provide consistent access to high-quality kosher food every week,” said David G. Greenfield, CEO of Met Council. “If you have Medicaid, there is a strong chance you may qualify for Glatt Kosher groceries delivered to your home. Our message is simple: call, get screened, and let us help you access what may already be available to you.”

Met Council distributes more free kosher food than any other organization in America and has deep experience connecting New Yorkers to culturally appropriate food programs. This effort focuses on ensuring Medicaid recipients are aware of a practical benefit that can ease day-to-day challenges while supporting overall well-being.

New Yorkers on Medicaid who would like to see if they qualify can call Met Council at 929-595-7835. The process is quick, and many may be eligible.
