Last week, Yeshivat Merkaz Hatorah had some very special visitors from the Orthodox Union. Rabbi Moshe Bain, the President of the OU, came to see the school operate from an inside perspective in order to assist the Yeshiva in their project of expanding the school. The representatives who came were very impressed with the classes, facilities, staff, and most importantly the Morah’s dedication to their students. Currently, the preschool is working on their Brachot Unit. The Bracha of last week was Borei Pri Haadama. The OU came in at a time where each of the classes were having their brachot party. Rabbi Bain had the opportunity to quiz some of the children on this unit and was very happy to see how eager the boys and girls were to show off their knowledge in this area. The children felt very accomplished and excited to have had such a special guest test their knowledge. Afterwards, a luncheon meeting was held between the OU delegates, Rabbi Bain, Rabbi Yigal Haimoff, Rabbi Asaf Haimoff, and Rabbi Yaniv Meirov, which was sponsored by Elite Cafй. In this meeting, different methods of how the school could expand and what is most important to make a great impact in the Queens community were discussed at length. Both the Orthodox Union and Yeshivat Merkaz Hatorah are looking forward to continuing a partnership together. Yeshivat Merkaz Hatorah is very grateful to Rabbi Bain and the delegates who came down to see the school in order to help in their endeavor of expanding and to provide continued education to the future leaders of our community.
