Orot celebrated its fourth annual Chanukah party on Sunday, December 29, at Ohr Natan, bringing together over 100 community members for an evening of joyous festivities and celebration.
The event featured a variety of activities, including delicious food, a live DJ, a photobooth, a dvar Torah, and vibrant dancing. The theme of the evening highlighted Orot’s achievements over the past year, with photos of the organization’s events and lectures displayed throughout the venue.
The highlight of the night was Orot’s Got Talent, a kosher talent show that provided a platform for frum girls and women to showcase their abilities. Talented singers, dancers, and musicians performed, leaving the audience inspired and entertained.
A panel of respected community members served as judges for the talent show: singer and songwriter Shaindel Antelis, nurse and community leader Nelli Yakubov, and Rebbetzin Esther Zino, director of JWave for Girls. Antelis captivated the audience with her soulful singing, Yakubov energized the crowd with a celebratory dance performance, and Rebbetzin Zino delivered an impactful dvar Torah about the meaning of Chanukah.
After careful deliberation, the judges and audience selected three winners:
First place: Diana Murdukhayev, who won $300 for her original song performance.
Second place: Odelia Matatov, who earned $100 for her rendition of "Elokai Neshama."
Third place: Viola Haimov, who received $50 for her solo dance performance.
Other participants, including Talia Aaron, Fire and Ice (Sylvia Shakarov and Tamara Simkhayeva), Lily Licht, and Miriam Tamar Katanov, were also acknowledged for their courage and contributions to the evening’s success.
The event included a raffle featuring prizes such as Shabbos makeup by Aneley Cosmetics, a candy platter with Dubai chocolates from Candylicious, a decorative frame from EmmAvi Designs, and jewelry from Art & Molly. Organizers extended their gratitude to sponsors for their generous donations, which enhanced the evening’s festivities.
Orot’s Chanukah party was hailed as a resounding success, fostering unity and joy within the community. By celebrating Jewish heritage and providing a stage for frum women and girls to shine, the event reflected the organization’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences.
Plans are already underway for next year’s celebration, with Orot aiming to continue building on this cherished tradition.
