This past Tuesday, April 19, Ohr Natan’s Monday night Chavruta program made a special trip to Williamsburg, Brooklyn for unique Torah stimulation. The Chol HaMoed Pesach program began with twenty participants taking seats in the Satmar Shul for a one-of-a-kind learning session with their chavrutas. Next, the group joined 1,500 chassidim as they listened in on the Satmar Rebbe’s drasha.
Afterwards, the men were privileged to greet and receive brachot from the Dinover Rebbe where they heard inspiring Torah thoughts and sang holiday songs creating lifelong memorable moments. Then, the group shared the spirit of the chag with the Kalever Rebbe. The Rebbe’s son, the Kalever Rav, delivered words of chizuk, gave brachot, and distributed fresh oranges from the hand of the holy Rebbe. Beautiful heartwarming songs filled the air as the grouped fervently danced inspiring both themselves and the chassidim.
Rav Naftali Rosenbaum, director of the Chavruta program, spent considerable time organizing the logistics for a smooth schedule in Brooklyn.
Rabbi Natan Kaziev remarked, “My relationship with the Kalever Rebbe extends to my brit milah where my family was privileged to have the Rebbe be the sandek. Today, my connection with Kalev continues on a deeply personal level as I merit to interact with two of the Rebbe’s grandsons Rav Rosenbaum and Rav Menachem Shimon Friedman who jointly organized this trip as well as many aspects of the Chavruta program.”
Earlier on Tuesday, members of the Chavruta program joined youth minyan participants for a lively game of basketball. Afterwards, the group headed to the home of one of the shul’s members where they fulfilled the mitzvah of reciting Birkat Ha’ilanot in the backyard of the home. Delicious snacks and desserts were also prepared.
