While the CHAZAQ organization has become renowned for their incredible outreach work in changing the lives of hundreds of Jewish public school students, their work with the community at large is (Baruch hashem!) still going strong. With several lectures and events throughout the New York area, hundreds of men and women are inspired via these CHAZAQ lectures on a weekly basis.
Two of the many inspiring events in recent days took place in the Jamaica Estates community. On Sunday night, April 22nd, CHAZAQ hosted world renowned lecturer Rabbi Berel Wein at the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates. Hundreds of men and women attended the shiur of the renowned scholar who shared many inspirational stories and personal anecdotes. A week earlier Chazaq had hosted a shiur at Cong. Anaheim Shalom in the same neighborhood. Chazaq Director Rabbi Ilan Meirov gave a shiur on improving relationships between husband and wife, parents and children and between an individual and his Creator. Rabbi Meirov concluded by urging the community to influence their families and friends to send their children to yeshiva and to use chazaq’s services of afterschool programs to educate those that are currently in public schools.
Other recent lectures included 2 special women’s events by Rebetzin Orit Riter at Cederherst and in Forest hills. Scores of women heard a riveting lecture on Emunah and bitachon.
