Students and teachers at Ohr Haiim have been deeply involved in preparations for the upcoming Pessah holiday all month. Those studies came to a crescendo at the Model Seder programs, which were held on Sunday and Tuesday mornings for the boys and girls classes, respectively.

This “hands-on” learning experience featured a full blown Pessah experience complete with Matzah, Maror, and four cups of grape juice. Children learned how to make harosset, check maror lettuce leaves for bugs, and how to set up the Seder plate. All of these lessons, of course were in keeping with the rich traditions of the Sephardic community. Led by their principal, Rabbi Mordechai Kashani, and assisted by the Moroth and Ribbis, the children recited portions of the Haggadah, sang traditional melodies, and got totally geared up for the hag.
