Children across Chazaq’s Shaping Lives Division recently turned their Hebrew names into colorful works of art, combining creativity with a meaningful lesson about Jewish identity.
At more than 15 Shaping Lives locations, participants decorated their Hebrew names in their own individual styles, helping them recognize and appreciate the meaning and uniqueness of the names they carry. The hands-on activity gave each child an opportunity to create something personal while strengthening his or her connection to Jewish heritage.
The following Sunday, the children turned their attention to the month of Elul. As a time devoted to reflection and growth in preparation for Rosh Hashanah, Elul offers an important lesson even for the youngest members of the community.
Just as the children brought patience, care, and dedication to creating their projects, they learned that Elul calls upon each of us to put thought and effort into our own growth. Through engaging activities and age-appropriate lessons, Chazaq’s Shaping Lives Division continues to give children opportunities to experience Jewish learning in ways they can understand, enjoy, and carry with them.
