It was inspiring to see the smiles on the Talmidim’s faces having the opportunity to spend time with their fathers in their Yeshiva on this special Sunday, December 10 , Erev Chanukah. Students from grades 5-8 came to school with their fathers and davened together in the Yeshiva ballroom. After an uplifting Shachrit, all joined for a lavishly-catered breakfast. The Chanukah spirit was in the air, as fathers and sons bonded over breakfast with music, Divrei Torah, and an entertaining game-show!
It is always special when parents and their children are able to bond within the framework of a yeshiva setting. A D’var Torah was delivered by Rabbi Igal Haimoff. His words stirred and ignited the hearts of fathers and sons, reminding them of the holiness of Chanukah. He elaborated on the importance of parent participation and involvement in their child’s growth and education. The gathered were reminded how, with one little candle, we can build and rebuild ourselves and our community. An amazing game show crowned the event; fathers and sons paired up in excitement to answer trivia questions.
The breakfast was over, the bagels were gone, but the bond took us to a place far beyond.
