YSZ Elementary School is incredibly proud of its sixth-grade students for the care, teamwork, and dedication they invested in their Beit Hamikdash model projects.
As part of Jewish History class, students researched the First and Second Beit Hamikdash and translated their learning into an ambitious hands-on project—designing and constructing detailed three-dimensional models with remarkable creativity and attention to detail. Through this process, the boys not only deepened their historical understanding but also reflected thoughtfully on what was lost with the destruction of the
Batei Hamikdash.
As a Jewish people, we constantly pray to merit the rebuilding of the third and final Beit Hamikdash. This project allowed students to connect emotionally and intellectually to that longing, transforming learning into action and aspiration. Their diligence, collaboration, and pride in their work were evident at every stage.
The students proudly presented their completed models to the school during lunchtime, where classmates and staff stopped by in awe of the craftsmanship, knowledge, and passion on display. It was a powerful demonstration of how experiential learning can inspire a deep appreciation for Jewish history and the hopes we continue to carry for its return.
