The Bukharian Jewish Congregation of Briarwood (BJCB) came alive with warmth, light, and communal joy on Sunday, December 21, as families and neighbors gathered for a vibrant Community/Family Chanukah Party at the shul on Daniel Street in Briarwood.
Under the leadership of Rabbi Simantov Yanetz, the afternoon program brought together all generations for a festive celebration of Chanukah that emphasized togetherness, Jewish pride, and simchah. From early afternoon through the late day hours, the building buzzed with energy as children and adults alike enjoyed a full slate of entertainment and activities.
Guests were treated to classic Chanukah favorites including fresh latkes and donuts, along with pizza, music, raffles, and engaging entertainment that kept the atmosphere lively throughout the event. The celebration reflected BJCB’s ongoing commitment to fostering a warm, family-centered environment where Jewish traditions are celebrated with joy and accessibility.
Special recognition is extended to Malkiel Gavrielov, Mrs. Leah Davydov, and Nerya, whose dedication and hard work were instrumental in arranging such a beautiful and successful Chanukah party. Their efforts ensured that every detail—from the programming to the welcoming atmosphere—reflected true communal care and devotion.
With glowing menorah flames and smiling faces filling the room, the BJCB Chanukah celebration stood as a shining reminder of the power of light, unity, and shared tradition within the Briarwood Bukharian community.
Chazak u’baruch to all who made the event possible.
