Last Thursday evening, the community gathered at Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills for an inspiring challah bake hosted by Chazaq in solidarity with Israel. The event created an atmosphere of unity, spirituality, and tradition.

The evening's keynote speaker, Dalia Cohen, delivered a heartfelt address on the significance of making challah and the powerful segulot (spiritual remedies) associated. Her words resonated deeply with attendees, highlighting the spiritual act of baking challah as a means to elevate one’s soul and bring blessings into their lives.

The ambiance was thoughtfully crafted with burning candles and low lighting, setting a serene and contemplative mood. This setting symbolized the lighting of our neshamah (soul) amidst the darkness, creating a profound sense of connection and introspection among all who were present.

Participants experienced an uplifting evening, filled with the warmth of community and the rich traditions of their heritage. The act of kneading and braiding challah became a collective spiritual journey, fostering a deeper connection to their faith and to each other.

The night continued with a special kumzits where attendees joined in song and reflection. This intimate gathering provided a beautiful conclusion to an already inspiring evening, further enhancing the sense of unity and spiritual upliftment.

Chazaq extends heartfelt thanks to Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, All About Kindness, QJCC, and UJA for their invaluable partnership in making this event possible.

Chazaq’s dedication to hosting events that bring the community together was evident throughout the night. This challah bake was not just an event; it was a testament to the power of tradition and community in nurturing our spiritual lives.
