Beth Gavriel Hosts Event Aimed At Sephardic Continuity

On Sunday night, May 9, Beth Gavriel had the honor of hosting Rabbi Nissan Hakakian for a talk on the Sephardic continuity. Rav Hakakian is the rabbi of the Sephardic Kehilah of South Monsey and the Rosh Yeshiva of Tiferet Torah also in Monsey. The event attracted many Benei Torah who joined with their parents. The attendees had the opportunity to meet with Rav Hakakian who shares a bond with Rav Yitzchak Yosef.

At the program, Rabbi Nerya Aminov, Rabbi Lior Dahan, Rabbi Meir Gavriel Elbaz, Rabbi Yaniv Meirov, Rabbi Michael Khamiov, among others, spoke on the progress and vision for Sephardic thought here in Queens and beyond. Avi Cyperstein, a City Council candidate for district 29, also spoke of his plans for the community and invited those gathered to open the conversation on civic engagement further. The program was cosponsored by the Chazaq Organization, TorahAnytime.com, and Tiferet Torah of Monsey.
