On the fourth night of Chanukiah, hundreds of women gather at the White Shul in Far Rockaway to thank Hashem for His wonderous ways in an evening billed as “A Night of Gratitude.”

Victoria Zirkiev, the president of Chazaq’s women’s division had the auspicious privilege to welcome those gathered to the annual event where thoughts were shared of our Creator’s many unlimited blessings generously showered upon us daily. Victoria described a ritual in her home where each member of the house praises the Almighty. “In our home we are known to constantly thank Hashem and appreciate all the blessings He provides. If you ask my children for their mom’s favorite saying, without hesitation they will tell you it is thank you Hashem, I love you Hashem.’ My husband and I try to instill in our children the need to be grateful for everything Hashem delivers.”

Victoria then revealed a marvelous exercise she does each morning with her family. “On the way to school each child must repeat 5 items of thanks. Every day they try to think of different ways to be appreciative. This really opens up a child’s mind and teaches them indebtedness to the One Above.”

Victoria then explained another daily remedy, “We recite the daily thank you Hashem prayer which is probably one of the most powerful ways to get your prayers answered. If you want to see miracles in your life start saying this powerful prayer.”

Rabbi and Rebbitzen Feiner of the White Shul worked hard to make the evening a reality and although they were out of town, they arranged for Rabbi Motti Neuburger, the assistant rav to deliver opening remarks. Other sponsors included HASC, New York Life, Ohr Naava Women’s Torah Center and The Thank You Hashem Nation platform that disperses inspirational quotes as well as well as torah tidbits along with a Shabbos newsletter

The women then had the opportunity to experience Hashem’s gift with a musical performance by singer, songwriter and activist Shaindel Antelis. Her fourth and newest album “The Sun is Rising” is filled with upbeat tunes and meaningful messages.

Saying the powerful words Thank You Hashem and recognizing the small things in life lead to amazing happenings. The words themselves act as a prayer. Appreciation brings on many blessings and yeshuvot. Thanking Hashem give us direct access to our creator and opens the gates of mercy. Hashem always loves us, no matter the circumstances in our lives. When we have gratitude, we return Hahem with the love that He has for us every day of our lives.
