CHAZAQ Ladies Paint Night Benefits Shaping Lives Programs

On Wednesday night, October 30th, CHAZAQ hosted a beautiful Dip N’ Paint Event for ladies in Kew Gardens Hills, benefiting CHAZAQ’s Shaping Lives Sunday schools. “It’s an opportunity to get away from the stress of home and enjoy some quality time with close family and friends” said one excited participant.

Words of inspiration were offered by CHAZAQ director Rabbi Ilan Meirov who discussed the importance of proper communication in a relationship.

The CHAZAQ Shaping Lives Sunday School has over 130 students on a weekly basis in their four branches in the Queens area. A new branch was recently opened in Toronto, Canada to assist the community’s growing needs. 

While CHAZAQ’s Jwave Division focuses on teenage public school students by offering scores of programs throughout the month, CHAZAQ’s Shaping Lives Sunday school is geared for Jewish children who attend public school. Every week local children get together to pray, study the Hebrew alphabet, and enjoy delicious pizza. They bring home projects to show their parents what they have learned at the program, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

Every year, scores of children learn how to read in Hebrew thanks to the guidance of CHAZAQ’s devoted staff thereby giving them a basic foundation in their Judaism and better preparing them to potentially make a switch to Yeshiva.

CHAZAQ’s PSTY (Public School to Yeshiva) division, which has successfully transferred over 800 public school students to Yeshiva in the last three years, works hand in hand with the Shaping Lives Division in guiding parents who seek a yeshiva option for their children.

All in all, the program has been a great asset to the entire community at large.
