Ezra Academy Launches Summer Program

High School students across the country very much anticipate the ring of the final school bell at the end of the year. Hopefully, by the time school starts in September they are eager to return. During the summer months however, most students make all types of plans, hoping to relax, enjoy themselves and maybe even make a little money. Going to school to continue their learning is usually not one of their choices.

Ezra Academy wants to change that mindset! Rabbi Tzachi Diamond, a Rebbi and Director of Development at the school, has created an innovative summer program for current students of Ezra as well as its’ recent graduates. The idea is for students to come together one evening a week at the school, giving them a chance to catch up with their friends and remain connected to Torah at the same time. Following mincha and dinner, boys and girls would enjoy separate shiurim given by faculty, alumni as well as local mechanchim. The big question was… would anyone attend?

After hearing about the program during the final weeks of the school year, students were looking forward and excited about this unique opportunity.

This past week saw the start of the program and was met with an amazing turnout of over 25 students and alumni (on a holiday weekend nonetheless) with the participants promising to bring more friends the coming week.

The program is scheduled to run until the end of August, when a special trip and raffle for the participants will be held.
