“More and more Bukharian adults are losing their Jewish identity and we must work together to put an end to it.”

That was the message imparted at a special Rabbinic gathering that was initiated by Emet outreach  together with  Chief Bukharian Rabbi of USA and Canada, Rabbi Yitzchak Yisraeli.

The important meeting took place at the Beth Gavriel Center in Forest Hills, which is where Emet began much of their programming nearly 15 years ago.

Approximately 25 Rabbi’s from the Bukharian community where in attendance for this important event.

Words of inspiration were delivered by Emet Directors Rabbi Akiva Rutenberg and Rabbi Mordechai Kraft along with several other members of their staff. In addition to Chief Rabbi Yisraeli, Rav Noach Isaac Oelboum, who is renowned for his expertise in Jewish Law shared words of inspiration to the Rabbanim on hand.  Also, Rabbi Ilan Meirov, Director of CHAZAQ outreach, whose mission is to inspire Jewish public school students from elementary school through high school, spoke about Emet’s important work with college students and encouraged everyone to continue working together in changing the lives of our youth.

The event closed off with Rabbi Nissim Musheyev and Rabbi Binyamin Yochanan sharing their personal journeys in becoming who they are, and the outreach work they do with College students throughout the community.
