Which aspirations are the driving forces behind the Queens Jewish Link and the Bukharian Jewish Link? They are unity, communication, and dialogue. Minds connected by ideas, people connected by words - a unified platform is what the BJL and QJL hope to achieve. On Wednesday, February 7, there will be a networking event at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills at 7011 150th Street, including a brief program celebrating the 6th anniversary of the QJL and the recent launch of the BJL. Reception will be at 7 p.m. and the event is expected to last until 9:30 p.m.

The papers were designed and continue to weave together the communities they serve with exclusive interviews, consistent coverage of local happenings, and reliable reporting of current events. From politics and religion to holiday guides and cooking tips, the QJL and BJL have become common-names in discussions throughout Queens’ neighborhoods and households.

The event celebrating the circulations will also host speakers affecting the community from their many different paths and backgrounds. Yaniv Meirov, Director of the Chazaq Organization, will be the night’s emcee. Introductory remarks will be given by Assemblyman Daniel Rosenthal of the 27th District, Queens’ newest assemblyman, who is working hard to serve the community. Words of welcome will be offered by Rabbi Yitzchak Yisraeli, the Chief Rabbi of the Bukharian community in the U.S.A. and Canada. Finally, the event will host guest speaker Stephen J. Savitsky, who was a past President of the Orthodox Union. The Publisher’s Report will be presented by none other than the papers’ own Yaakov Serle, who will be celebrating the QJL’s 6-year anniversary and also formally introducing the BJL.

The speakers represent some of the community’s greatest advocates for change and forward movement. The BJL ran exclusive interviews with Assemblyman Rosenthal, Rav Yisraeli, and Yaniv Meirov. The interviews covered ways in which the Queens community has grown in the past six years and the direction in which it is headed. The Queens Networking Event hopes to further mold the future of the community by giving its members an opportunity to meaningfully connect for business or friendly solidarity.

The success and popularity of the Queens Jewish Link and the Bukharian Jewish Link demonstrate the great thirst for growing unity in the Queens Jewish community. This event hopes to facilitate that desire and serve some delicious food as well! Come join the Networking Event of the Year and take an active role in the future of the Queens community.
