Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday in Jerusalem that U.S. President Donald Trump invited him to the White House for a meeting in two weeks.
The Washington visit, which would mark the prime minister’s fourth in-person meeting since the president returned to office in January, would come after Netanyahu delivers a speech during the General Debate of the 80th Session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York City.
Netanyahu is scheduled to deliver the first speech of the day on the morning of Sept. 26.
JNS sought comments from the White House Press Office on the announcement.
Netanyahu made the remarks when he took questions from Hebrew media following a press briefing in English and Hebrew on the state of the Israeli economy at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.
