The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce's U.S. World Trade Week Grand Finale celebration was a significant event, bringing together world leaders and representatives from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the importance of trade in today's society. James McCament, Acting Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Customs & Border Protection, traveled from Washington D.C. to be the guest of honor and deliver the keynote address at the event.

McCament praised the mission of the Chamber and its leadership for fostering connections and building bridges between different groups and governments. In a time when anti-Semitism and hate are on the rise, events like the World Trade Week celebration are crucial in promoting unity and understanding among diverse communities.

As a guest speaker, McCament highlighted the importance of trade in driving economic growth and fostering cooperation between nations. He emphasized the need for collaboration and partnership in today's changing global landscape.

Mr. McCament applauded the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce's World Trade Week celebration stating the significance of its presence in the U.S. World Trade Week Committee by utilizing its strength of Helping build Bridges, connections and promoting dialogue in a world that faces division and discord today.

The event with an emphasis of recognizing USA World Trade Leadership Acting Commissioner Troy Miller of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection was a momentous occasion for all participants involved. Miller's leadership in facilitating trade and travel through ports of entry is vital for the success of the U.S. economy and world trade. His dedication and commitment to streamlining processes and fostering partnerships are commendable, and serve as a shining example of true leadership within government departments.

Joining Miller on the events Host Committee was Tenavel T. Thomas, Port Director of the Port of NY-Newark for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Thomas plays a crucial role in assisting chamber members and communities with time-sensitive issues, aiding in the efficient movement of goods and services through ports.

Additionally, Deputy Chief Security Officer of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Danielle M. Outlaw, was recognized by the. Chambers for her efforts in maintaining the safety and security of our ports. Her expertise and leadership are invaluable in keeping our ports secure and operational.

Edward Mermelstein, New York City's Commissioner for International Affairs, was also honored for his contributions to promoting international trade and economic development. His remarks on the importance of diversity and collaboration in business were well-received by attendees. In addition to World Trade Week, the recent event brought together and recognized Asian American & Pacific Islanders ("AAPI") Heritage Month. Sibu Nair, Governor Hochul’s Deputy Director of Asian Affairs, presented a proclamation from Governor Hochul to the Chambers leaders on behalf of the Unity event. This gesture highlighted the importance of celebrating and honoring the contributions of AAPI individuals to our society and economy.

Furthermore, U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Development Specialist Man-Li Lin, on behalf of John Mallano, Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration New York District Office, presented a letter of recognition to the Chambers partners. The letter expressed profound gratitude for the exceptional support provided by the Chambers to the U.S. Small Business Administration. It emphasized that the support for small businesses in the community plays a crucial role in the agency's mission.

The event which took place at The Korean American Association of Greater NY Headquarters in NYC with a Lavish Kosher Food Pavilion Sponsored by The Wall Street Grill also recognized key individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to world trade.

The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce and the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce made history at the World Trade Week in NYC by signing a Historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement. This milestone event was attended by distinguished guests including Vishal Harsh, Trade Minister of the Consul General of India in NYC, and James McCament, Acting Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Customs & Border Protection, who traveled from Washington DC as the event's Guest of Honor.

During the signing ceremony at The Korean American Association of Greater NY Headquarters, Mr. Appen, a representative of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with such a dynamic organization dedicated to helping businesses grow. The event also served to recognize and honor individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to world trade.

The signing of the MOU symbolizes a commitment to strengthening economic ties between the Orthodox Jewish and Indian American business communities, fostering collaboration and promoting mutual prosperity.
