Midrash L’man Achai, a close-knit high school under the leadership of dean Rabbi Shmuel Z. Kleinman, took its annual weekend trip to New Square, NY, this past Shabbos, Parsha Vayigash.
In its new home, at Ohel Simcha just off the corner of 72nd Avenue and Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills, the yeshivah continues to develop bochurim to understand the traditions and tenets of the Jewish religion while pursuing an academic curriculum in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
This trip is regularly a highlight for those in attendance. “This year, our yeshivah opted to bring both some of our own talmidim along with a few boys from the Queens community,” explained yeshivah director Rabbi Levi Mushaiev. “It was profound to witness the Skverer Rebbe, Rav Duvid Twersky, bless each boy to succeed in their studies. Notably, this was the first experience for some of the boys to properly keep the sacred customs of Shabbos in its entirety.”
The New Square community is always hospitable to L’man Achi and embraces their outreach efforts. The Shabbaton culminated with a joyous Havdalah ceremony led by Rabbi Kleinman on Motzei Shabbat.
