There was a tangible feeling of excitement, simcha & unity as the parents and family members of the Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion’s 6th grade boys gathered together to celebrate the milestone of receiving their Gemara’s.

The evening began with the Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion Choir led by their devoted Menahel, Rabbi Ephraim Ben Mordechai.

The boys received their own Gemara from Rabbi Hershel Praeger and Rabbi Aharon Dovid Wyszkowski, with much simcha as their families watched proudly.

Among the highlights was the simcha after the Gemara’s were handed out. The boys erupted into spontaneous dancing for over 20 minutes!

The crowd was honored to have Rabbi Aaron Kahn, Rov of Knesses Bais Avigdor attend and offer warm words of encouragement and blessing.

The love that emanated from the Rov towards the entire kehilla that he just met was memorable. He spoke about the importance of making a kiddush Hashem in our behavior which is the responsibility of every Jew, certainly one that studies Torah. The boys and parents didn’t want to let him leave as they lined up for Brachot & escorted him to his ride outside. All in attendance truly felt elevated by this momentous event. Many parents remarked that this special occasion will not be forgotten for years to come as the boys take the sweetness of this evening with them for the rest of their lives as they embark upon Gemara learning.

We wish them much success and continued sweetness in their Torah learning, Amen!
