Hundreds Of New Yorkers Participate In Meir Kay’s Virtual Pizza Party

Meir Kay teamed up with Our Place and threw New York’s largest virtual dance pizza party via Zoom with live entertainment this past Sunday evening, May 3. Of course, the festivities did not require participants to leave their houses.

“It made such a difference for my son Shmuel who was so depressed and expressing suicide ideation over missing friends. The pizza, DJ and other entertainment provided him great relief and helped us both to feel more connected and loved,” said one lucky mother.

Meir Kalmanson known to the digital world as Meir Kay is a social good activist best known for his social media content which has amassed over a billion views and impacted millions of people around the world. Meir understands that these are challenging times and wanted to take upon something very special for those isolating by themselves or with a significant other because it can get quite lonely. So, Meir chose everybody’s comfort food – pizza – with a topping of human connection!

DJ Roy Baron led the party and got everyone up and about moving their bodies more than they have been since the quarantine began. Then comedian Mendy Pellin gave a humorous approach to the lockdown of our lives. Next up was Ari Blesser, a lyrical genius who shared his talents with the Zoom entourage. Finally, singer and songwriter Zalmy Yanover shared with the new Meir Kay fam soulful tunes.

A team of volunteers deliver a steaming hot order of Kosher pizza directly to the homes of over 50 Queens residents spanning the neighborhoods from Jamaica Estates to Kew Gardens Hills, Astoria and Long Island City, amongst others. Another party-goer exclaimed, “I feel like I won the lottery! I love pizza it’s my favorite! I am alone in my apartment and the feeling can sometimes be hard. This totally puts a smile on my face!”

Our Place employs a multi-faceted approach to counseling, rehabilitating, and guiding troubled Jewish youth in their return to mainstream society. The organization provides troubled youth with a second chance; an opportunity to serve as a source of everlasting pride to their family, community, and Jewish heritage.

Meir is devoted to spreading positivity, joy, and goodness by utilizing digital, live, and other platforms to break down walls and bridge connection between people. The event fed the mind, body, and souls of viewers with a full showbiz lineup. In all hundreds of New Yorkers enjoyed free pizza and were infused with fresh positivity and renewed human connection. The event was summed up best by an ecstatic parent, “Thank you! We are a family of 6. This is a beautiful idea! My husband is an ICU nurse and hatzalah member on the frontlines working hard all the time!”
