Keeping clean thoughts is imperative for our spiritual journey. One can compare pure brainwaves to the sheen of a wine glass before filling it with the finest vino. Similarly, one’s mind can be equated to an elegant, golden wine barrel. However, a filthy crystal or cask completely ruins the delicate experience no matter how bold the flavor might be. Henceforth, our intellect is exceptionally valuable in connecting with something greater - with G-d. When one allows depraved thinking to clutter their psyche, they are toying with the vital tool at our disposal to maintain the connection to the Almighty.

Our tradition astoundingly imparts that aiming to perform virtuous acts has intrinsic value. Even when a situation fails to occur as planned, the effort and the forethought carry immense weight. It is always wise to fill our time with constructive matters, study the beauty found within the Torah, and naturally negative vibes will not emerge. Success in this area comes to those who load their mind with endless wholesome opportunities that wicked contemplations have no space to foster.

Moreover, our intentions and efforts are both noticed and appreciated by Hashem. It is quite comforting to fathom the extent that our Creator loves and supports us each day of our existence. Hakadosh Baruch Hu invites everyone to lean into that support and jump into His awaiting spread arms. This encouragement is nothing short of a gentle nudge to not just stand stationary, rather shoot for the stars with the understanding that we have the backing of a presence much larger than ourselves at our disposal.
