This issue of the Bukharian Jewish Link is jam-packed with so many community events and recent happenings that have taken place leading up to the solemn day of Tisha b’av.

Speaking of jam-packed, the Big Chazaq Event was this past Sunday night and Elite Palace was filled to capacity . If you were there, you most likely had quite an inspiration sitting with approximately 2000 people and enjoying the wide array of speakers Chazaq had this year. We covered the event and recap it on pages 28-29. A truly inspirational night.

Also on Sunday, the Alliance of Bukharian Americans (ABA) held its second Annual State of the Community Address. This was an opportunity for some of the most active members of the community to meet and greet our local politicians. The ABA took great pride in arranging this event, and was happy to witness the blossoming of what is sure to become great relationships between the Bukharian Community and its Statesmen and Stateswomen. Many of our local politicians took the opportunity to meet with the crowd at Elite Palace. More information about the Community Address can be found on page 25.

Beth Gavriel is close to opening their state of the art Mikvah for the entire community. Later this month, they will have their final campaign for the mikvah as they are so close for it to being finished. More information can be found on pages 32-33. As a community, lets help out and get them to the finish line.

A few other things you’ll find in this issue: An Interview With Rabbi Nisan Gavrielov, who is a vital part of the Bukharian community. Yad Lachim has an enormous Shidduchim campaign coming up on Tu B’Av - Friday, July 27th, at 10:00 a.m. EST. Further details are available on pages 5 and 22.
