In reference to the recently published article, Forget Judicial Overhaul, We Need Editorial Overhaul, Tzvi Haimov argues that the frum media needs to do a better job in presenting a diversity of perspectives on political issues. I find myself agreeing with his central argument. I’ve always supported learning an opposition’s ideas, thoughts, and arguments. Without learning those key points, you set yourself up for failure. It did strike me as interesting but not surprising that the frum media does indeed struggle to cover and present both sides of the judicial overhaul issue to its readers. It’s a disservice to not show the full picture.

In recent years, people have become more intolerant of others with whom they disagree. They take offense very easily and even dislike people with differing viewpoints. This is true in the Jewish world, as well as in the non-Jewish world.
